Why does it take so long for the page to load?
When accessing the internet video for the first time several Active-X controls will be loaded onto your computer to show the video, and PTZ control (if enabled). These controls should install within 1 - 2 minutes (on broadband connection). Once those controls have been installed, when returning to the page it will load within a few seconds.
Active-X controls are small programs designed to run within other programs to allow new functions that the orginal program cannot handle. These programs allow greater functions than the orginal program was intended for. For example, our webpage uses two of these controls to allow viewing live video and controlling our camera (if enabled), both of these functions were not orginally programmed into Internet Explorer but can be done by having Internet Explorer run Active-X controls.
Java is a platform independent programming language. The same java code can be adapted to run on any type of computer or operating system. Our systems can use Java controls for viewing the video and controlling the camera, but generally are not preferred because of the lag in movement and video. (Java is used when a computer does not have Internet Explorer and cannot use the Active-X controls.)
How do I install the Active-X controls?
Since our PTZ control is digitally signed Internet Explorer’s will automatically prompt to download and install our Active-X control. IE security settings should be set to the default levels to allow the download of the control.
NOTE: Firewalls or other security programs/devices may prevent downloading the Active-X control.
Why does the video not appear above?
There can be several causes to not seeing the live video feed.
1) Are you using Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater? The Active-X controls only work with Internet Explorer, if you cannot run Internet Explorer then click the link to display the java page instead of the Active-X controls.
2) Has the FWVoyager control been installed? If you choose not to install this component then you will be unable to view the video. Ensure IE is set to default security settings and reload the webpage to be prompted again to install the control.
3) The controls may not of installed properly, click here How do I remove Active-X controls? and follow the instructions to remove the Active-X control. Then re-launch the web page and re-install the Active-X controls
What if I do not use Internet Explorer for browsing the web?
The Active-X controls only work with Internet Explorer 4.0 and greater, if you do not have Internet Explorer web browser then you will have to use the java page to view the video.
Why do the PTZ controls not appear above?
1) Are you using Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater? The Active-X controls only work with Internet Explorer, if you cannot run Internet Explorer then click the link to display the java page instead of the Active-X controls.
2) Have you installed TRON-Tek’s PTZ Active-X control? If you choose not to install this component then you will be unable to view the video. Ensure IE is set to default security settings and reload the webpage to be prompted again to install the control.
3) The controls may not of installed properly, click here How do I remove Active-X controls? and follow the instructions to remove the Active-X control. Then re-launch the web page and re-install the Active-X controls.
How come my system slows down when viewing video?
The Active-X control for viewing live video requires a lot of the CPU’s time and resources for displaying the live video, on a normal computer viewing live video can use 50% - 60% of the computer’s resources. The usuage maybe more or less depending on your specific system, use Window’s Task Manager (press Alt + Ctrl + Del to bring up) while viewing the website to determine if it is using all the system resources. .
How do I operate PTZ controls?
Once the Pan, Tilt, and Zoom controls are installed simply press and hold the desired button, or click for s small movement. The speed control changes how fast the unit will move while holding down a button.
Why are the PTZ controls choppy?
The PTZ controls will become erratic if the video stream is using 90% or greater of system resources. This causes the Active-X control to run slower, so the movement of the camera is noticeably choppy.
Why do different cameras have different optional buttons?
Each camera may have different equipment and setup configurations, the Active-X control is dynamically configured to support the functions of the selected system. So a wiper button will appear on a system that supports that feature and on another system that does not have a wiper, the button will not appear. This corresponds to the wiper, transmitter on and off, video on and off, and set frequency buttons.

If you previously downloaded our Active-X control as an .exe file and installed it then: 1) Open Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs 2) Uninstall the IntControl program 3) Open the web cam page and download and install the Active-X control.
